Rustbucket Banger Rally goes to Munich Oktoberfest (Beer Festival) 2009
Yes thats right your reading this right we at Rustbucket Banger Rally are set to get the wheels rolling again this time to the World famous Beer Festival in Munich. We have now confirmed dates. We will leave Guernsey on 27th September 2009 and the rally will finish on 4th October. The trip will last 7 days with the last 2 days at the festival. The route will be the most scenic you will probably ever travel going through the French, Italian and Swiss Alps with the route taking you through Interlaken and Lake Lucerne up to Innsbruck, Austria then finishing off in Munich at one of the large beer tents at the Oktoberfest. You can choose a theme for your car but it would be nice to keep the bavarian theme the choice is yours. Hopefully passengers will dress appropriately, and get in the beer festival mood.
Cars will need to cost less than £500. There will be a registration fee of £200 and each person will be asked to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship. All proceeds this year will go towards the Vale Infants/Juniors school appeal which is to raise £37,000 for their new climbing frame. see details
On our last rally all the teams chose to camp and this worked out at roughly £8 a night. Again if you want to stay in hotels its up to you. We can now tell you that most hotels in the area are already fully booked for this week but we will be able to camp in the Weisen kamp which will accomodate all of us.The tube runs right to the beer festival site, so if you want to stay further out it is possible. We try to keep the cost as low as possible. There will be prizes for the winners and individual prizes for the best dressed car and passengers.
