Haiti Earthquake - 14/01/2010 AID REACHING CHILDREN EMERGENCY HAITI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL This is a shocking event and it is crucial that the international community supports the Haitian people at this critical time. Aid Reaching Children are planning to be part of that community and we are appealing once again to the people of Guernsey to make donations for the children of this disaster. We will as always investigate and take great care before parting with funds raised. Whether we actually plan to go out there remains to be decided. We are aware of the political unrest that exist in Haiti and would never put any of our volunteers in unnecessary danger. We are, as we speak, researching the best methods of getting aid directly to the children who are the victims of this disaster, in the most efficient and reliable way as possible. Haiti, as we know is a poor and depraved country and I know the people of this island will give generously so I will take this opportunity to say huge thank you in advance. Many thanks to all the riders of 80 to Haiti who raised over £13,000 on the 80 miles bike ride.A brilliant effort, Well done. BUCKET COLLECTION AROUND TOWN Thank you to Nell, Sharon, Zoe for running around all the pubs in town and around the island. £1781.21 collected Well done girls. AUTO CROSS MEETING Many thanks to the Autocross Club for donating the proceeds of their collection during their meeting last sunday. Thank you for your continued support. OUTSIDE M & S LAST SATURDAY Thank you Tiffany Fallaize for collecting outside M & S on Saturday you collected £451.09. 4 hours work. Well done. VALE SCHOOL Absolutely Fantastic effort by all the children and staff at Vale School. You raised an amazing £2,000 well done. GUERNSEY GAS Another £1,000 raised by all the staff at Guernsey Gas. Thank you so much for your continued support. SLIMMING CHALLENGE 2010 This Slimming Challenge has been organized by Ashley Ford-Parker. There is a group on Facebook which has been started up and so far 41 have signed up for the diet. Ashley has already had over £1,900 pledged for her efforts alone. Well done Ash. Keep going. LA MARE DE CARTERET SCHOOL Well done a brilliant effort and over £800 raised so far. Big Cheques have also come in from Collins Stewart Wealth Management, Cimandis, Ernst & Young, Legis, Collas Day, the list goes on and will be updated on here soon. A lot of money has been handed directly into the bank so we are unable to thank everyone personally. So please accept our thanks through this website.
